Shortly after The Harbinger is defeated, a special holographic message left behind by Cortana before her death appears behind Chief and The Weapon. Before she dies, she leaves a message for an ally, telling them that "You have all you need." I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't see how we can have a large scale occupation with no sign of pushback from sentinels while there's a functioning monitor active. What I likely think we're going to get unfortunately is that he was destroyed with the ring fracture. He could be part of the ring's systems and controls everything naturally. He could also be the ring itself, that could be a cool concept. As we saw with Guilty Spark rampancy is a very real thing for Forerunner AI so perhaps he split himself to avoid that and continue to do his duty effectively. I don't think 343 just want to make Guilty Spark 2, so with that said I wonder if the talk of him being 'everywhere and nowhere' means he fractured himself into many monitors all with different personalities? Take a little bit of inspiration from Red vs Blue. I think with what we got in point of light he's not going to be a typical monitor. ![]()
